Go The Extra Mile Scholarships Now Available

YCI has launched its “Go The Extra Mile Scholarships” to help YCI volunteers cover the cost of their flight to our programs in GhanaTanzania, Mozambique, Senegal, Guatemala and Costa Rica.  After saying a BIG THANK YOU for every Aeroplan Mile donated, we’re making the miles available to YCI volunteers through a series of scholarships.

The “Go The Extra Mile Scholarships” will be awarded to prospective volunteers who are eager to go abroad with YCI but are restricted by the cost of flights. Scholarship candidates will need to submit applications for the desired scholarship at least 3 months in advance of the start date of their placements and also have submitted the documents and fundraising target required for their first deadline.

  • Scholarship recipients will be responsible for any post project travel costs.
  • The scholarship recipient will incur the cost of the flight tax, which could be substantial.

How to Apply:
YCI will be accepting creative applications in the form of essays, blogs, photos, music, videos, social media campaigns using FacebookTwitter or Pinterest. Using their preferred format, candidates must creatively express how they will “Go The Extra Mile” for YCI and international youth development by responding to the following question:

How would these Aeroplan Miles propel you on your personal and professional journey?

General queries and submissions will be accepted at generalinfo@yci.org until October 1st, 2012.  Please include “Go The Extra Mile” in the subject line of your application.
